Parties to the agreement

This agreement is between KHAT Education — Tanta, Gharbia Governorate, Egypt — and the teacher, or the person responsible for the centre, who opens the account.

Opening an account or using the platform constitutes acceptance of these terms, the privacy policy and the refund and cancellation policy. Students and parents use the teacher's platform, and that relationship is between them and the teacher.

The account

• Accurate details must be supplied: name, phone and email address. Invoices and notices are sent to the registered email.
• The account holder is responsible for the password and for all use made of the account.
• An account is for a single teacher or a single centre. Sharing sign-in details with another teacher breaches these terms.
• Legal capacity to contract is required, as is authority to contract where the account is in the name of a centre or company.

Subscription and payment

• Current plans and prices are published on the plans page, in Egyptian pounds.
• The monthly subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled.
• The season subscription is paid upfront in two instalments — one at the start of the season and one at the start of the second term — with a reminder before the second. The agreed price is fixed for the whole season.
• Any change in prices is notified at least 30 days before it takes effect and does not apply to a period already paid for.
• Where a payment fails it is retried and the account holder notified; access stops after 7 days without payment, and the data is retained.
• An upgrade takes effect immediately; a downgrade begins at the next cycle.

KHAT takes no percentage of the tuition a teacher collects from students.

Obligations of the account holder

• Uploaded material: the account holder warrants the right to use the videos, images, questions and notes uploaded. KHAT does not review material before publication.
• Students and their data: the account holder decides who joins the platform and is responsible for parental consent where a student is a minor.
• The financial relationship with students: amounts are recorded and tracked in the platform but move directly between teacher and student, and KHAT is not a party to them.
• Legal and tax obligations relating to the teaching business.

Obligations of KHAT

• Operating the platform and maintaining its availability, with regular backups of the data.
• Protecting the teacher's material with the tools the plan provides: watermarking, a signed access token per view, and a capture-attempt log.
• Replying to support requests within one business day.
• Giving notice before any material change to the service, the prices or these terms.

Prohibited use

• Uploading material the account holder has no right to use, or redistributing another teacher's material.
• Any material unlawful under Egyptian law, or containing abuse or incitement.
• Attempting to breach the platform, exceed plan limits by technical means, or access another account's data.
• Using the platform for a purpose other than teaching, or reselling access to a third party.
• Automated collection of data (scraping or bots) without written permission.

Intellectual property

• The teacher's material remains theirs. Lessons, exams and uploaded files stay their property and may be exported when the subscription ends.
• The platform belongs to KHAT. The software, the design, the KHAT mark and all components of the service are owned by KHAT; a subscription grants a right of use, not of ownership.
• The teacher grants KHAT a limited licence to store their material and display it to their students, for that purpose alone and for the term of the subscription.

Suspension and termination

• The account holder may end the subscription at any time (procedure here).
• KHAT may suspend an account that breaches these terms, after notifying the holder and allowing an opportunity to remedy, except in cases of fraud or direct risk to other users, where suspension is immediate.
• Where an account is suspended without a breach by its holder, the remaining period is refunded in full.

Limits of liability

The service is provided with reasonable care, without warranty that it will operate uninterrupted or error-free. KHAT's liability in all cases does not exceed the amount paid in the last 3 months.

KHAT is not liable for students' results, for loss of profit, for material uploaded by the account holder, or for disputes between the account holder and their students or parents.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Egyptian law, and the Egyptian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. Direct contact is preferred before any dispute is raised.

Amendment of these terms

Subscribers are notified by email 30 days before any material amendment takes effect, and continued use of the platform thereafter constitutes acceptance. The last-updated date at the top of this page indicates the version in force. To reach us: the contact page.
